What can a pregnant woman take for headaches?
Angela asked:
Tylenol is on my “safe list” of drugs OK to take during pregnancy, but I still just dont like to take pills since I am pregnant you know? What are some natural remedies? I thought I might be dehydrated but upon drinking lots of water I just pee alot more! Any other suggestions?

Try changing your diet.

Just keep drinking lots of water. Try taking naps in a dark room. Try a little caffeine (a little bit is ok in moderation) That’s what helped me out with the headaches. They’re the worst!

the headaches are normal, there awful, and i found nothing to help with them while i was pregnant. but tylonal is very safe. and if you can believe it so is vicodin and darvacet. so tylonal is on the lower end of the pain meds you can take. i was a little iffy about pills during my pregnancy but compared to vicodin tylonal is nothing so i felt pretty safe taking it every now and again

Maybe try taking a relaxing bath, turning the lights down, or have your partner give you a facial massage. Avoid caffeine, and just take it easy for a bit.
Tylenol has had so many tests and checks done on it, most doctors actually recommend it for the aches and pains that come with pregnancy. I was nervous about taking it as well, but some nights I ache so much that I have to take SOMETHING or I’ll never get to sleep.
“Natural” remedies, like certain herbs and things like that are still just as dangerous, as the effects they have on you effect the baby just as much. A drug is defined as anything that alters your physical or mental state.

If you drank a lot of caffeine before you were pregnant and now you’re not drinking any or little. It could be from lack of caffeine. Try a small soda or small coffee. Caffeine in small moderations are fine. My doctor actually suggested it to help with headaches.
Best of luck!

i usually go to sleep and that seems to work for me… but u can try the selection below i copied it from the website below. it seems as if i can be beneficial to u also…
“Hot and Cold — Put your feet in a bucket of hot water for about 15 minutes while applying a ice pack to your head. You can also use a hot water bottle for your feet. This works well for some people or some types of headaches. I have also personally used hot and cold on my head alternating the two. You can also put a cold compress on your forehead while putting something hot on the back of your neck. These techniques might not get rid of the headache but they almost always make them a lot more tolerable.”
